A wiki page that may need your expertise -
Hello RA - I'm not trying to attempt to edit a page as I'm probably not the best person to do so. And because from what I've been able to figure out, this page is incredibly inaccurate, so perhaps I'm failing to understand something here. Also why I just prefer making the case to you. As you were the last person (and was not the first time you did), to make edits to this page/section in question:
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-income_places_in_the_United_States">List of highest income places in the United States</a>
You will note, Wikipedia lists Skaneateles, NY as the city/township with the 'highest' per capita income in the country (lists as no. 1, when according to it's own link, it is more likely among the lowest, as opposed to being the absolute highest). And for the no. 2 spot, it lists Belle Meade, TN at 104K... but according to this site:
According to this other source, that figure appears to be is correct, but the position is not, it lists Belle Meade as No. 27 in the nation:
<a href="http://www.statjump.com/lists/average-income-dp3c151tc.html">Cities with the Highest Per Capita Income</a>
So my question is, why is Skaneateles listed as no. 1 when it is not, and where are the 26 other cities that should be appearing in its place? Also, if this is the case, will you fix it, otherwise I'll be happy to try.
- According to the last census, and quoting wiki's demographics for the village "The per capita income for the village was $29,170":
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skaneateles_(village),_New_York">Skaneateles (village), New York</a>
- According to the last census, and quoting wiki's demographics for the village "The per capita income for the town was $28,624":
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skaneateles_(town),_New_York">Skaneateles, New York</a>
I hope maybe I've made a valid observation here, and not wasting your time, if this page is indeed correct, I would much appreciate some explanation for all this. Otherwise, in trying to find the city with the highest per capita income, it would appear, the source to turn to in this case, though it comes up first in search results, is 'not' for once, Wikipedia.
Thanks - Blphnx
